The socialization of a child has a remarkable impact on what a person would be. As a child growing up in a small town in Ghana, there was no hospital. Yamoah saw his grandmother and a few others who practiced traditional medicine help people. He became in love with science, especially in matters of healthcare. Consequently, after high school, he enrolled at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to pursue a bachelor's degree in biomedical science. Seeing firsthand how riveting medicine could be in the anatomy dissection labs, he decided to pursue medicine. In 2018, Yamoah dropped out of UCC and moved to the United States to explore opportunities. Here in the USA, he enrolled at Montgomery College where he pursued an associate degree in Biological Sciences. At MC, he participated in both the STEM Scholars and the Renaissance Scholars Honors Programs. Through these programs, he conducted classroom research into the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's Disease, Monoclonal Antibodies and Their Clinical Application in Cancer Treatment, and The Role of Molecular Motor Proteins In the Neurons and Their Physiological Relevance (which was selected for presentation at the 29th Annual Beacon Conference). Currently, Yamoah is a student at Dickinson College pursuing a BS in Biology. His long-term goal is to pursue medicine and specialize in oncology.
